The Alpensporthotel Mutterberg is located in close proximity to the valley station of the Stubai Glacier cable car. The nearest village is Neustift im Stubaital. The municipality of Neustift im Stubaital not only impresses with its many listed buildings, but also with the nearby Grawa waterfall, a natural monument with a drop of almost 180 meters. Incidentally, our hotel is the only accommodation directly on the Stubai Glacier. The location was chosen in order to be as close as possible to the beautiful Tyrolean nature. In addition, thanks to the convenient location, our guests can be on the slopes within a short time.

| 1971 | Construction of the inn by Riki and Hermann Hofer |
| 1973 | Construction and opening of the Stubai Glacier cable car Completion of the first construction phase and opening of the hotel with 16 beds |
| 1978 | Expansion to 35 beds Addition of swimming pool and sauna |
| 1980/81 | Expansion to 120 beds and conversion of the dining room and hotel lobby |
| 1986 | Opening of the Mutterberg Aparthotel by shareholders (today’s House 2) |
| 1990 | Takeover of the Aparthotel Mutterberg by Riki and Hermann Hofer |
| 2001 | Renovation and refurbishment of the wellness area |
| 2005 | Handover of the hotel to son Horst Hofer (4th generation) |

Winter vacation in Tyrol
In addition to skiing, there are of course many other ways to enjoy your stay at the foot of the Stubai Glacier: Winter hiking, tobogganing or ice skating are just a few of the activities you can undertake in the fantastic winter landscape.
The Alpensporthotel is open for you from the end of September to the beginning of May and now also offers a free lift bus.
